Where are you from? That is an easy question for some people to answer—and a more difficult question for the rest of us.
I could answer: Scotland. Because I live here. But that confuses people who think my accent sounds American.
I could answer: USA. Because I was born there. But that confuses people who know that I live in Scotland.
I could answer: London. Because I lived there for 15 years. But that confuses people who know where I was born and where I live now.
I could answer: Crook of Devon. Because I live in this wonderful village. But that confuses most people (even in Scotland) who have never heard of this place.
